The Q4 2023 installment of Dye & Durham\u2019s Canadian Pulse Report revealed that amidst high interest rates and inflationary trends, Canadians\u2019 outlook on the economy further declined from Q3 2023<\/a>, with many respondents expecting to spend more on necessities and nearly 60% believing a recession is likely in the next 12 months.<\/p>\n

Real Estate <\/strong><\/h4>\n

Despite the gloomy economic outlook, fewer Canadians say they are planning to wait for house prices and interest rates to decrease before buying a property, an indication that prospective homebuyers may be growing tired of trying to time the market, and pent-up demand could lead to a long-awaited volume rebound for lawyers, realtors and all those that serve real estate interests across the country.<\/p>\n

The report further revealed that Canadians have embraced technology in their professional lives and are now expecting the same level of convenience and efficiency in the services they receive. Nearly 90% of employed Canadians consider technology important in their jobs.             Conducted quarterly, the Dye & Durham Canadian Pulse Report is designed to uncover trends and insights into Canadian sentiment surrounding three key areas: the economy, technology, and the property market. The findings of the report are the result of a survey conducted by Dye & Durham from November 8-9, 2023, among a nationally representative sample of n=1,001 who are members of the online Angus Reid Forum, balanced and weighted on age, gender, region and education. For comparison purposes only, a probability sample of this size has an estimated margin of error of\u202f+\/- 2.5 percentage points 19 times out of 20.
